History of Bangor CC

The Early Years

There is evidence of Cricket being played in 1911 under the captaincy of a George Taylor and the ground was apparently on the Brunswick Road

The Early Years: Accomplishments & Awards

During this period Wallace Sproule was the only international player at Bangor Cricket Club having earned 3 caps for Ireland.


Reopening of Ward Park

After a break of 2 1/2 years due to re-development, Bangor Cricket Club welcomes its return to playing at Ward Park.

Ahead of the 1977 cricket season and to celebrate the reopening of Ward Park for Bangor CC. A Bangor XI featuring England test stars Colin Cowdrey & John Jameson hosted the Ireland team.
