2 min read

Fantastic night on Friday evening to celebrate the best achievements from 2022 season as we came together as a club for the first time of the year hosted by Club Chairman Peter McIlwaine.

Club tankards went to Chris Pyper, Matt Pitts and Mark English for picking up 5 wicket hauls or a century during the season. Pyper recorded impressive figures of 5-11 in a T20 match against Templepatrick as the 1s picked up a dominant win. Against Donacloney Mill 4s in July, Matt Pitts recorded figures of 5-25 in his man of the match display. Mark English was at his very best in June when he carried his bat for an unbeaten 106* against Woodvale 3s at UP.

The batting cup went to Patrick McMillan with an average of 38.42 and 461 runs.

Unfortunately Stephen Cumper couldn’t make it but he came away with the bowling cup with 19 wickets and an average of 14.84.

Young player of the season award went to promising off spinner Max Escott. Who was tied for the most matches played last season and recorded figures of 24 wickets at an average of 22.96.

Performance of the year award went to Matt Pitts where he picked up 5 wickets for 26 runs and he also scored 55 to help the 4s win on the 30th July against Donacloney Mill.

The final award the John Kennedy Bat for Clubman of the year award went to Mark English. On the field Beachy is known as the talisman but off the field he is a hugely important person at the club organising many of events during the season, sponsorship & commercial opportunities as well as many of the youth initiatives ran at the club. Beachy is fully deserving of the award for his tireless efforts at the club over the years.
