£75k Raised for Clubhouse Refurbishment
3 min readJust a month after our last update when we passed the half-way mark, we’ve now passed 75% of our fundraising target!
The response of our members and friends continues to amaze us and shows an incredibly wide range of support for this ambitious clubhouse regeneration project.
Donations are coming in from all over the world. Here’s what Warren Upritchard (Joe’s son, who lives in Australia) has to say:
“It has been so good to read the news of the forthcoming development at Upritchard Park. A ground and place where I have enjoyed many good times, and my family has wonderful memories.
The new facilities will be absolutely first class, and for all our club members, visitors, as well as the many rugby and cricket participants in years to come. The Upritchard family would encourage everyone to please support the Buy a Brick scheme and get behind this terrific development.”
Of course, although we’ve raised 75% of the target amount so far, that still leaves the last 25% to go…..
How to contribute
A sizeable proportion of the donations so far has been in the form of “Patron Bricks”. So many, in fact, that we’ve had to extend the original target for these Bricks to accommodate the high level of support. However, there is even greater scope for those supporters who simply wish to be a “Brickie” and buy the £100 bricks. There are many who have already taken up this option, either via the Crowdfunder page, or using the Buy a Brick forms that are available both online, or in printed form in the clubhouse, but we need many more to do so.
The Club would like to thank everyone who has made a donation so far, no matter how large or small. However, we need everyone to spread the word further and encourage friends and families to consider doing whatever they can to keep the ‘Brickometer’ climbing towards its final target!
To recap, there are several options which start with buying a single brick for £100 or the ability to purchase several, this will get your name displayed on our “Roll of Brickies” and every purchase will also be entered into a draw for 2 tickets for the 2025 Ireland v’s France, 6 Nations game in Dublin.
In addition, we are offering the opportunity to become a Patron Supporter of Bangor RF&CC by buying a £1,000 brick, Patrons will be displayed on the Patron Supporter Board at the new clubhouse entrance. These are ideally suited to, families, individuals, businesses, or a team from previous years and they will get 10 entries into the 6 nations draw.
We are also looking for sponsors for each of the new changing rooms for an initial 5 year period, and individual packages, along with branding opportunities that can be discussed with any of the members of the fundraising committee.
There are several ways to pay, this includes completing the form and either making a bank transfer or paying by cheque, we have also set up a Crowdfunder page, please note that Crowdfunder automatically add a discretionary 10% tip which goes to cover Crowdfunder providing the portal, this can be removed during the sign up process.
