Bangor III’s Lose to Early League Leaders

1 min read

With echo’s of Snow Patrol still fresh in the mind Bangor III’s hosted BISC II at Upritchard where BISC elected to bowl in this 30 over encounter.

Bangor started fairly well averaging 5 an over for the first 20 overs with the best partnership coming between brothers, Andy (19) and Chris Pyper (38 runs), at just below the half century mark.  With the fall of Chris and 4 wickets down the run rate slowed up a bit to bring Bangor to a closing position of 135 for 7 after their 30 overs which was going to be hard to defend on a quick outfield.

The young charges of Bangor put in a good shift with tight spells from Patrick Boyd (4-0-15-0), Andy White (4-0-20-0) and Michael Skelly (4-1-18-0) against an experienced opening partnership.  Unfortunately none of edges or mistimed shots went to hand and BISC got through to the seventeenth over without the loss of a wicket and slightly ahead of the required run rate.

Bangor got a couple of consolation wickets with Andy and Chris Pyper taking one each but BISC passed the Bangor score with 8 wickets in hand.
